Mega Man fans will be pleased to hear that Capcom are bringing the original Mega Man series to the Nintendo Switch this May.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 will be available as separate downloads on the Nintendo eShop. There will also be a physical release of Collection 2 which will contain a download code for the first set of games.
It’s not clear if the game will get a physical release in Europe but knowing Capcom I suspect it won’t. Fans will also be in two minds about them splitting the games into two collections – being cynical they’re clearly trying to make as much money as possible which is nothing new as far as this company is concerned. However, I suppose it’s good to be able to just buy the 8-bit games if they’re the ones you prefer and it’s still probably cheaper than having to buy them all individually on the eShop. The collection should also make a nice addition to the Nintendo Switch’s retro games library.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 contains six 8-bit classic games: Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, Mega Man 4, Mega Man 5 and Mega Man 6. The games contain new features such as the ability to rewind time to avoid tricky deaths.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 contains four titles spanning the 16-bit and 32-bit era: Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. These games come with extra modes such as challenge mode where you can complete challenging stage remixes with online leaderboards.

If you’re lucky enough to own a Mega Man amiibo you’ll be able to unlock new in-game challenges. I’m hoping Nintendo reprint more of the lovely gold version which I missed the first time around.
There’s no further news on the brand new Mega Man 11 which we’re expecting in late 2018.
